NuuChem Diagnostics Limited is happy to report that the Catachem Inc. FasTox testing product (C504-0C) used to detect ethylene glycol has been independently evaluated in a hospital setting in London in which 21 samples were tested for the presence of ethylene glycol. 100% correlation was observed between the results obtained on the enzymatic FasTox test when compared to the results obtained for samples run on a GC/Mass Spec. analyzer.
A paper outlining this study should be published internationally by mid-Summer.
It is also noted that:
Although the formulation for the Catachem FasTox Ethylene Glycol test has not been changed since its introduction, the instructions for use have. This change allows the user to initially determine if some form of glycol is present in the patient sample and then, if so, to determine with reasonable certainty whether this is actually ethylene glycol or some other type of glycol.
